High school clubs find new ways to help the community

Matthew Berk, Web Assistant

A recent moratorium, or temporary ban, on fundraising for charities through club accounts has interfered with the goals and success of many student-run organizations. Some clubs that continue to function and help the community in truly impactful ways are listed below.

Laguna Food Pantry Club

The Laguna Beach Food Pantry Club participates in the annual food drive and helps out by packaging envelopes and stacking goods, meeting throughout the year whenever the Food Pantry needs help. The Laguna beach Food Pantry is beneficial to many low-income families that are able to acquire their groceries at the pantry without having to pay.

The meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month in Sr. Gonzalez’s room (85). The pantry is located in the Laguna Beach Canyon and is visited by the club at various times throughout the year.
