Sal, Inspiring Positivity Through Connection

Sal, Inspiring Positivity Through Connection

Every school has that one person who makes it feel like home for many students: that person is Sal.

As a campus supervisor, Sal’s role goes far beyond simply overseeing the hallways. He’s the heart of the school, the one person students know will always greet them with a smile, ask how their day is going, and genuinely care about the answer. He’s someone who shows up every single day with the same goal in mind: “I try to make their day better.”

For the Class of 2025, Sal has been a constant since day one. He remembers them arriving as nervous freshmen, masks on and unsure of what high school would hold. “I’ve watched them grow up,” he says with pride. “From kids who were unsure of themselves to confident young adults ready to take on the world.” He’s been there through their awkward first days, their big wins, their low points, and their comebacks. He’s watched them find their voices, their passions, and their people, and he’s cheered them on every step of the way.

Sal isn’t a teacher, but he teaches something just as important: how to treat people. With respect. With kindness. With presence. He doesn’t walk by students; he sees them. He knows names. He picks up on moods. He gives out encouragement and always manages to say the exact right thing when someone needs it most.

What sets Sal apart is that none of it feels forced; it’s who he is. He leads with heart and a deep sense of purpose. “I try to be the change I want to see,” he says, and it shows. He models consistency, compassion, and commitment. He doesn’t do it for credit or attention. He does it because he knows how much of a difference one person can make.

And make no mistake, Sal has made a difference. Just ask the seniors. Ask the students who started each day with a “What’s up?” or a “You got this” from Sal. Ask the kids who felt overlooked until they were noticed, or remembered their name, or gave them a reason to smile. To them, Sal isn’t just a campus supervisor; he’s a mentor, a role model, and a bright light even on cloudy days.

Sal’s impact isn’t written on whiteboards or reflected in GPAs; it’s found in the confidence he helps build, the community he helps foster, and the kindness he spreads without ever asking for anything in return.

As the Class of 2025 prepares to walk the stage and turn the page, they’ll carry Sal’s influence with them. He’s been part of their story, their everyday hero, their steady source of light. And for Sal, watching them grow, overcome, and prepare to take on the world is one of his proudest joys.

“I’ve seen them grow up,” he said. “Now I just hope they go out there and keep growing, and maybe, try to be that person for someone else.”

Thank you, Sal, for showing up every day, for every student. You are what makes this place feel like home.
