As the holiday season and winter have begun, many have started to cozy up and watch their favorite holiday movies. Each movie has a fun and exciting plot that keeps the audience entertained. Whether these movies have been watched many times or not, they are the top-rated movies. They are the perfect movies to put on while you sip on hot chocolate and cover yourself in blankets. There are five movies that can be considered among some of the best holiday films.
In fifth place is a movie called It’s a Wonderful Life. The main character George Bailey is going through a hard time in life and he meets his guardian angel who shows him all the amazing things he did in his life, and how he has impacted those around him. It’s Christmas and you see all these people in the spirit with all the happiness from George. The moral of the story is that everyone’s life has meaning and purpose even when you are going through hard times.
In fourth place is The Santa Clause. This movie is family-friendly and very funny. It follows a divorced dad named Scott as he is with his son on Christmas Eve. He accidentally hurts Santa and he and his son are magically transported to the North Pole. Scott gets told he needs to take Santa’s place and is in disbelief. After a couple of months, he begins to gain weight and grows a beard. It seems like he has some big shoes to fill.
In third place is Elf. This movie will get everyone excited and laughing! The main character’s name is Buddy and when he was a toddler to was transported to the North Pole by accident. He was then raised among Santa’s elves. He finds it very hard to fit in at the North Pole so he goes to New York, in his elf outfit, hoping to find his real dad. His father is in disbelief and they run a DNA test to prove they are family. Buddy’s dad starts to create a relationship with Buddy who acts childlike and causes many problems however they grow close together.
In second place is The Grinch. It is goofy but also shows that anyone can learn to love Christmastime! It goes along with the Grinch and his dog Max, they live in a cave away from his neighbors in Whoville. The Grinch does not like Christmas and the town loves to celebrate. They are attempting to make Christmas big and bright, this upsets the Grinch because he wants to live in peace and quiet. The Grinch and Max scheme a plan to pretend to be Santa Claus and steal Christmas to get back at the community.
Coming in first place is Home Alone. It is a fun and silly comedy movie that follows an annoying 8-year-old named Kevin. Kevin has 4 siblings and his family accidentally goes to the airport thinking he is in the car with them. When Kevin wakes up in an empty house he thinks his dream to have no family has finally come true. To his surprise, two con men are attempting to rob his family’s house and Kevin is left alone trying to protect their home.
All of these movies are fantastic must-watch for the holiday season. They all share the holiday joy beautifully and create a cozy holiday atmosphere
