The Homeless Helpers Club at Laguna Beach High School helped prepare and deliver enough food and drink to feed 20 people on Thanksgiving day in downtown Laguna.
“We always drop off our food at the chess table in downtown Laguna in between the play structure and the lifeguard tower,” said Club President Mary Fast.
The club purchases or makes meals to feed about 15 to 20 people and delivers them every Saturday. They normally provide baggies containing a sandwich, chips, candy, fruit, a bottle of water, and a napkin. On weekdays, the club provides breakfast items such as croissants, muffins, and water.
“Normally, the club feeds around 15-20 homeless each Saturday and sometimes on the weekdays as well,” said Fast.
With the Christmas season in full swing, the club has started planning its next holiday meals.
