Artist Feature: Just like me, photography is something that’s always changing. Photography is one of my favorite artistic passions because it allows me the flexibility to grow and see different perspectives. Whether I’m exploring new places or meeting new people, I’m always learning and trying new things.

Q: How did your passion for art begin? Is there anything unique or interesting about your evolution as an artist thus far that you can share with us?

A: My passion for art began when I was in elementary school. I had always loved to draw, paint, dance, and play the piano. My family strongly emphasized creativity throughout my life, which encouraged me to pursue my interests in many artistic areas. When I got my first DSLR camera at 13 years old, I taught myself the basics of photography and how to edit in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I was always so eager to improve that I would constantly ask my friends to do photoshoots. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I loved photography. To gain more experience, I shot models on Instagram, did some work for my family, and took photos whenever possible. As time went on, I reached out to several modeling agencies across Southern California to expand my portfolio. At 16 and 17 years old, I was shooting with models from well-known agencies such as NoTies, Freedom Models, Scout LA, and more. Along the way, I learned so many new things and got to meet so many new people. Through all of the ups and downs of photography, my experiences have pushed me to work harder, believe in myself, and go beyond my comfort zone.

Q: Is there a mentor or professional whose work has influenced you significantly?

A: Photographers like Sam Elkins, Nolan Omura, Noel Alva, and Jessica Kobeissi significantly influenced my interest in lifestyle, travel, and fashion photography when I first started shooting.

Q: Where do you envision your art taking you in the future?

A: I’m not entirely sure what the future of art holds for me. But, all I know is that I will always continue to grow no matter what I do or where I end up.
