Artist Statement: I don’t really know how to describe my work other than it’s pretty colorful. Many of my pieces are able to change color depending on the color of light on them. In all my pieces, all the space is filled up with patterns. Some patterns may be very simple whereas others may be complex. I’ve always liked eye strains and optical illusions so a lot of my pieces have that sort of feel to them.

Q: How did your passion for art begin?

A: I don’t really remember how I started drawing, I just remember I always did it. I’m self taught so I think that’s pretty cool. I’m currently teaching myself how to animate and I’m pretty proud of myself for how far I’ve come.

Q: Is there a mentor or professional whose work has influenced you significantly?

A: I don’t have any specific person that I look up to, but I love many animation studios. One of my favorites is Studio Ghibli because their style and the stories they make are incredible.

Q: What inspiration or meaning can you detail regarding one of the works you’ve shared with us?

A: I base a lot of what I draw on little events that happen in my life and I just add some extra details. However, most of the things I make have no origin at all.

Q: Where do you envision your art taking you in the future? What goals do you have as an artist?

A: I have a few small goals to keep improving and learning new things. I really want to be an animator in the future, I’ve always loved cartoons and animations and I would love to make my own.
