Round 1:

#1 Phoenix Suns: Deandre Ayton

Explanation: Deandre Ayton is the surest bet to be a future all-star. His combination of size and talent cannot be passed on. He will provide an inside presence to help turn this young Phoenix team into a more complete squad.

#2 Sacramento Kings: Marvin Bagley

Explanation: The Kings need a consistent scoring option. They also need an all-around solid player, and that is what they will be receiving in Marvin Bagley. He already can provide loads of scoring at the low-post area with a still developing outside game. Bagley will fit nicely with De’aaron Fox at point guard. They are a tandem that could potentially terrorize the NBA on a night to night basis.

#3 Atlanta Hawks: Jaren Jackson Jr.

Explanation: Jackson has a lot of upside and potential with an insane 7 feet 4-inch wingspan and the ability to shoot well from beyond the arc. There is no doubt that he can be a good player in the NBA, but I believe a good player is all that he will be. The Hawks are passing on two great players in Luka Doncic and Mohamed Bamba. This is not a good pick for the Hawks!

#4 Memphis Grizzlies: Luka Doncic

Explanation: The young Doncic is an accomplished euro-league player who has the upside to be a versatile, all-star guard. His good size standing at 6 feet 6 inches combined with his pure shooting and playmaking merge to create the most talented guard in this class. He will pair nicely with Marc Gasol at center and Mike Conley at point guard.

#5 Dallas Mavericks: Mohamed Bamba

The Mavericks are in need of a star player with Dirk Nowitzki’s ancient age of 39, and Mohamed Bamba has the size, defensive prowess, and offensive upside to be just that. Bamba has the largest recorded wingspan at the NBA combine, which started in 2000, at 7 feet and 10 inches. He led the NCAA in blocks per game last year at 3.7 blocks. Finally, he has a surprisingly smooth jumper for his size and great potential to develop it even more. He has the toolset to be an all-star big in the smaller, three-point shooting NBA.
