It’s no doubt that substitute teachers are a vital part of schools everywhere. Yet, many students don’t even recall the names of substitutes that teach day-in and day-out across the campus.  

 

These are a few of the amazing substitute teachers who support our campus.

 

Brusky Senior

  1. How long have you been substitute teaching?

I have been subbing since they proved the world is round.

  1. What are your hobbies and interests?

I am an accomplished cat herder.

  1.  What do you enjoy most about substitute teaching?

Although subbing is the absolute pinnacle of achievement, my joy has been somewhat mitigated by the realization that virtually every student is smarter than I am.

  1. How do you feel about the community of Laguna Beach?

My wife and I have raised five kids in Laguna. All five graduated from LBHS. Now I have been sent here to atone for their crimes.

  1. How do you feel about the community of Laguna?

As for the community, we should build a wall and keep tourists out.

  1. What are your pet peeves about subbing?

I have no pet peeves about subbing. That’s like asking an Oscar winner if she/he thinks the statue should be shinier.

 

Mrs. Schuelke

  1. How long have you been substitute teaching?

I was a substitute teacher while in college back in the ‘80s at the LBHS District.  I’m substitute teaching at the end of my career too, so it’s been about six years at this school.

  1. What are your hobbies and interests?

I have a book club that I really love, and I enjoy going to free park concerts in the summer.

  1.  What do you enjoy most about substitute teaching?

The students. That’s the best part of this school, the students.

  1. How do you feel about the community of Laguna Beach?

I don’t want to gush over it like it’s Nirvana, but it’s a wonderful place.

  1. What are your pet peeves about subbing?

It’s really annoying when the teacher doesn’t leave an answer key.

 

Mr. Sikorski

 

How long have you been substitute teaching?

At least ten years.

  1. What are your hobbies and interests?

Skiing, reading, and training my dog.  

  1.  What do you enjoy most about substitute teaching?

It’s a different challenge every day.  

  1. How do you feel about the community of Laguna Beach?

They are a tight community that values education.  

  1. What are your pet peeves about subbing?

A lot of students don’t respect the subs.  They try to get away with breaking rules.
